I love paint for its fluidity, immediacy and ease in manipulating color. It must be the printmaker in me that really appreciates these qualities. As for subject matter, I have done a lot of plein air work in our beautiful hills and coastline. However, I have become more interested in studio painting with subjective and interpretive themes.

Over forty years ago the man who became my husband offered to teach me how to make etchings. I found it exciting and mysterious — and I still do. Working on metal is also hard work, and there is the waiting and wondering how it will all turn out. Over the years there has been plenty of room to experiment, leading to failures and successes, but never to boredom.

Let yourself e surprised by different subject and approaches - I surprise even myself. My prints vary in size from miniature to medium, and are sometimes made dimensional, with or without a frame. Anything larger and I say, let’s paint.
